Put On Your Thinking Caps

Last month at my local RWA meeting our speaker talked about writing themes. What theme did we see in our writing we could use to hook an agent or editor. Okay fine. Needless to say, it took me a month to think of an answer. I know, I’m so lame ;-)

So, hopefully it wont take ya’ll as long as it took me. I discovered, on accident no less, I tend to write about women who (hold onto your hats) have to learn to shake off societal and parental expectations and live on their own terms. WHY this is such a huge suprrise to me I have no clue since it’s something I’ve always struggled with personally *ggg*

Critters

Meant to post this Sunday but forgetted in my pre-school cleaning frenzy. Funny enough Larissa had a critter story to tell also. Well, a cat story.

I’ve fought an on again off again war with possums for the last two years. The first one scared the living daylights out of me–I thought it crawled in my dryer vent and was stuck behind the washer. Actually I thought it was a 100ft anaconda stuck behind my dryer–sue me I’m positively PHOBIC about snakes. Turns out there’s some pipe on my house they crawl on and fall into (I even heard one fall once. It woke me up). Then I get to listen to them hiss all night. Not a lot of fun if you’re deathly afraid of snakes.

So I go out yesterday to cut the grass (I’d called my landlord last week becuase another possum fell in the pipe on my roof –I think it’s a plumbing ventilation pipe–anyway he brought me a trap). I got outside to mow and there’s a big-ASS, FUGLY possum in the trap behind my shed.
