The Christmas List

'myspaceOkay I stole this Christmas list from Karen’s blog…

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate, though I prefer a Gingerbread latte from Starbucks…

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa is a lazy bitch :)

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Color on the tree, we don’t do the house. I value my ass.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Incredibly unnecessary and besides, its a poison and i don’t want the cats to get into it.

5. When do you put your decorations up? As at the last minute as possibly necessary though this year I”m going to put them up early in honor of my friend Larissa Clause

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Mik’s cheesecake or sweet potato casserole

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: Ummm the christmas we spent at my grandmothers with the entire famiy, and there are a ton of of them! (my grandmother is one of five kids)

Twits n Turks

Or twists and turns.

Okay Marty NOW we can talk about Prison Break!!!!!!! Woooooooo hoooooooooo.

After I picked up #1 we sat and rewatched the whole thing together and I was yelling at the TV at the end. I NEVER saw that twist coming! Who would have thunk, but I knew they had to have some way to redeam Kellerman, he was too torn and even if he’s not actually redeamed he’s doing the right thing (so what if his motivation is tainted).

And I loved seeing Bellick end up in Gen Pop! Yes I’m evil!pilot_06_360x240.jpg

It’s going to be a long cold winter with PB and Heros gone :( But there’s Taye Diggs *drool* and Daybreak and Battlestar Gallactica (for a bit longer anyway).

So what’s everyone else watching *blush*

Over There

Yes, you guessed it. I’m Over There today.

Peace on Earth

Ok so it’s not Christmas yet but Thanksgiving is LOOMING for us in the US.  If I owe you a book, your book went in the mail last week.  I”m off all this week to a) write my ass off, b) see the nutritionist and get a haircut and c) go to Galveston for Thanksgiving.

I know Thanksgiving tends to be about family but I really feel like this year I need to do what makes me happy, and besides, if I take enough notes for a book, maybe I can write it off as a business trip.

I’m still struggling with NAILED but I’ve had a few epiphanies today and I think that’ll help tons.  I think I can buckle down and just sink into the story now.  I better ;)

I’m blogging at SFC today if anyone wants to stop by for a real blog post LOL

Tease Me Please Me But Keep Your Opinions To Yourself

Or Why Serendipity is sometimes kinda Funny.

I was going to comment over at Sybil’s blog about this but got busy (basketball) and got sick (thanks #2 son).

On the one hand, we have Sybil asking about Hate Mail, and Lisa Valdez’s sophomore pressures. On the other, Sarah at LSC mentions reader reaction over some of her books either a) not having enough sex or b) having too much in the vein of her blog post. (links above).

You can’t please all the people all the time, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, the internet is at the very least, a license to voice your opinion, if not be downright rude about it. One of the best pieces of writerly advice I ever found anywhere (and sadly, I don’t remember where I found it) was from SEP, the goddess of comedies that can make you cry.

Protect the Work. sanity.jpg

If you take note of nothing else I ever say, take note of this. Sometimes protecting the work means turning down a book deal, refusing an editors request to make your book something it’s not, taking your toys and going home. Sometimes it means finding a new critique partner, or group. Sometimes it means firing an agent. Sometimes it means having someone else weed through your email for you. Sometimes it means stepping back from the internet, and the constant book chatter from readers found there. Sometimes it means avoiding those writerly “sisters” who have a tendancy to twist your gut and leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Ultimately what it means is do whatever you have to do to save your writerly sanity.

Traveling

I’m blogging at SFC and if you want to see the cover for Hands On, stop by!

A Sh*tdisturbance in the Force

And I missed it all.

Luke he really is your father. And I find neither of these facts disturbing. Disturbing? I’ll show you disturbing. I get off work at 4:30 and have to pick up the kids and be at the Ortho by 4:45. Not going to happen. Then it’s basketball at 6:30. Then it’s basketball tomorrow night. Then it’s basketball pretty much all day Saturday. Then it’s basketball on Monday night. And I MUST write ten pages a day… Yes, that’s disturbing.
Dont Date Him Girl.com — This is disturbing because I didn’t think of it first. A website where you get to post pics and trash tal–er tell all about your skanky ex.

And even better…….Sugar Daddies .com AS SEEN ON DR. PHIL. That’s not disturbing….
For the record the doc is a dumbass. I was on IM with Missy who’s going, “Dr. Phil just asked the guys what they were thinking.” < -- that’s disturbing

Um er they were thinking, “I’m a rich cracker with money to blow, now blow me.”

It’s not rocket science Doc.

Hmmmmmmm I wonder if there’s any SD’s out there looking for a fat, grey-headed old woman with NO free time. I can dream. ;)

Will be scarce….
