Damn Me Anyway

07.06.2007 by Amie in Fun 'n Games, Mad Mommy Dearest

So I’ve been feeling really lousy lately. Like REALLY lousy. I’ve had writer issues to deal with and kid issues to deal with and um rain to deal with and the quitting smoking thing to deal with too so I’ve really really been dragging.

Then I realized that I’d slid back into some bad eating habits AND I’d not been taking my vitamins EVERY day like I’m supposed to which explains why I was coming home and sleeping and just feeling like a slug all the time. I’m so stupid! I’ve taken my vitamins the last two days plus my green foods. Let me tell you what–that stuff is GROSS. Ok the stuff I take isn’t that gross but it LOOKS HORRIBLE. Doesn’t matter, my body needs it. I also went and got some of my adrenal meds–the nutritionist said I could go off them, it’s been six months, but I’ve been sluggish, stressed, and cranky and I finally figured out I just need them to help me get over this smoking hump–obviously my body’s telling me I’m not ready to be off them yet. Two days of vitamins and I already feel better. Huge relief because I’ll need every ounce of energy for next week! :D

I’m glad you wrote this up, Amie, cause people forget all the time how important vitamins are to our well being. They can make a remarkable difference.

Bernard you are so welcome! You know, my co-worker started that new diet drug (the one you can now get OTC) and the pharmacist told her to take a multi-vitamin with it and she hasn’t been and she told me today her feet and stuff hurt and I was like, “that’s magnesium!” Once again I’m reminded of how important a healthy balanced diet is!

Jordan thank you honey :notworthy: I feel SOO much better today already. Bad me

Isn’t it AMAZING how much a good vitamin helps? Seriously. It’s weird, spooky, and down right wonderful. And water too. If I’m feeling icky, I can drink a glass or two of water and usually feel better. Maybe it’s all in my mind (no laughing!)… Glad you’re feeling better hun!

Glad you’re feeling better!!! I had to start taking vitamins too, lately…and megadoses of vitamin K. I have rickets…no shit. Apparently, rickets is really common in people like, oh, writers, because we often don’t go outside. Within about 2 weeks, my hip pain, which had been chronic for months, went away. Awesome…

I’m glad you’re feeling better, lady! I have to take B-12 every two weeks (not with a pill either!). Inability to absorb and retain B-12 runs in my family… and it can be present in people with low thyroid function as well. (If you want to verify, check out the Physician’s Desk Reference - Pernicious Anemia.) :wth: [I'm trying to be intellectual here.] :dork:

I know, it’s pitiful how much crap can be wrong with a person.

Glad you’re feeling better. My ex was a serious health nut and the one thing he left me with was taking my vitamins. I don’t take half as much as I did before but I always take my Bs, C & E every morning with a swig of OJ.
