Wednesday Weirdness #30

Hey!! I’m alive! After two days home with a sick child I”m finally back at work too. Over at SFC this week I’m asking whether we should bail out GM and over at NAS…you get to see pics of my new tattoo!! Also over at SFC today is guest-blogger Suzanne McMinn.

AND!!!!!! I hope you have a chance to pop over to The Blind Bet, a group project put together by two wonderful Cobblestone Press authors who asked me to participate. I’ll be blogging there later this week.

Now, on to WW#30

1.) Have you ever taken your clothes off for money?
Hmmm I guess that depends on your true views of dating LOL

2.) Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Right now, a morning person

3.) Do you take any kind of medication daily or regularly? If so, what?
Lord…yes. Thyroid, diabetes & Hormones because you know, my ass is getting old. I also take magnesium and omega 3’s every day

4.) Do you ever have naughty thoughts about any of your friends significant others?
Naughty-sexy? Or naughty-I-wish-you-would-die-and-i-would-never-piss-on-you-if-you-were-on-fire? Oh wait…I read that wrong. I don’t have a significant other. Heeh

5.) What are your favorite comfort foods?
Home COOKIN’! Mashed potatoes, meatloaf, pork chops, homemade mac n cheese, or potato soup with cheese and fresh corn

6.) Would you rather direct a porn or star in one?
Gosh, tough call.I”m thinking, star in one. Yes, I said it.

7.) Have you ever seen a “donkey show“? Would you ever be interested in seeing one?
Um no but I once knew this Irish Setter…kidding!

8.) On a scale of 1 to 10, how gullible of a person would you say you are?
Probably around oh a 3-4. I don’t think I’m that gullible but we all have our bad days.

Territorialness Starts Young

Before I get to my story, it’s been a quiet week around the hacienda! Cooler temps are finally hitting N. Texas, and last weekend I took advantage to get some outside cleaning done–my arms have finally stopped hurting! And I will get those screens back on the windows tomorrow–okay okay…..tonight!

I’ve been reading and hitting the kids’ football game and working–the boss is gone but I have plenty of little projects to keep me busy!

Now, onto my story. (For those of you who don’t know me so well–I don’t date. I haven’t dated in years and even if I did date, I wouldn’t have a man around my kids because I”m just not looking for that kind of dating thing. For the most part, I LIKE being single and having my own space. Unfortunately there are downsides to not dating).

Last Saturday night I took the kids to the bar–get your minds out of the gutter. I am NOT one of those skeezer moms. My cousin was playing with her band at a local pub and children were welcome. She even brought her own son. Anyway, this old family friend showed up (I’ve known Steve since I was probably 12 or 13–and he’s a confirmed bachelor).  And while we were talking Kevin (#2 son) showed up. He sat, I introduced him to Steve, and we went back to talking. Kevin gets up and stands in front of me, doing his best to jockey his way between us.

I’m not lying.*boggle*

I told him to go sit down–I knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He sat. Then got up and did it again. I told him to sit–again! Finally, exasperated over my lack of gratitude for wanting to proect his mama from the big bad man, he wandered off. *sigh*

Maybe not dating wasn’t such a great idea :( At the same time, I guess he comes by his territorialness quite honestly since I’m rather protective of my space.

The children are gone this weekend–no bars though LOL I’m gonna chill and try to get some writing done! What about you?

In other news,Hittin’ It has a cover! (Plz ignore blurb. Is completely wrong). I know I say this every time but I really do think this one is my favorite!

How I Spent My Holiday Weekend

(my child is watching Noroku *sigh* I hate cartoons)

I cleaned house (which was like four hours of my life I’ll never get back), went to the movies and Blockbuster, took the kids to eat (twice), cooked, hit Home Depot, the pet store and the hardware store, fixed Raine’s smileys, updated the website, listened to my children argue (more hours I’ll never get back), sent a newsletter and hung a fan in my child’s room. I’m proud to say the fan works … but the light fixture doesn’t *sigh*

Did I leave anything out?

Oh yeah WRITING! :(

Off to do two blog posts (and finish cooking dinner)

I Have Pictures

So last night I’m laying in bed watching the last of the North Carolina vs Louieville game and Kevin starts yelling, “Mom Mom there’s something in the house. It’s a mouse or something!”

I pause the TV (gotta love the DVR Gods) and go running out, praying it’s not a rat. It’s not. It’s worse. It’s a baby possum!
There we are at 10 at night running around the living room like something out of Three Stooges, trying to catch this f)*&^*& we finally get it trapped in a milk crate and it crawls out the side!!!! So i grab it (i had a dishtowl), nearly drop it and, panting but triumphant, I yell at my son, “Get the camera!”

Yes I have pics. No i have no idea how the damned thing got in my house. Yes I let the damned thing go! And Yes most importantly of all, North Carolina won! LOL

Why I Bought My House

I know I’ve talked about my bush before–I THINK it’s a peach tree gone wild but I”m not sure. Whatever it is, it loves 40-50 degree weather and right now, is in full bloom. It’ll stay that way until about June or so.
