My Dad Reads Paranormal Romance

HEHEEEEEEEE You heard me right! See on Tuesday I had to have some minor outpatient surgery and Dad had to drive me (bless his heart we had to be there before dawn even thought about cracking and then stay for like four hours once they were done). So anyway he finished his book and I always take extras so I told him there was one down in my bag and it was about a hitman (which is about all I knew because I hadn’t read it.

Well the book was HUNTERS MOON. I got it from CT Adams and Cathy Clamp at the book signing we did in Stephenville! Hehehehehe he finished like half the book in two hours! And I had to let him keep it so he could read the rest. He left for Ohio this morning so he’ll probably finish it on the flight back in a few days. :D

I’m up 4k on my Nano project. What’s everyone else up to? I feel SO out of the loop.

Weighing In

So I haven’t posted about my weight in a while..and there’s talk at Sasha’s about doing the diet thing. I’d love to have some online support because honestly, after a while it gets tough and boring.

My new love is celery with peanut butter. (I will not even discuss my obsession with the Food Network )

Sadly I can’t find a damned decent apple to save my life. Not sure what’s up with that but oh well. I’ll admit I’ve been real discouraged lately (and cheating quite a bit). I mean what’s the point of sticking to a diet and being all healthy when you feel like crap? That probably only makes sense to some of you but oh well…..

Anyway in the last month I’ve lost 8 pounds for a grand total of 45 lost and 55 to go. Not bad for right around a year’s work. Tonight I’m celebrating with Pei Wei–because they don’t use MSG and I can pretty much eat all of their food I want.

OMG I have to share a food additive experience with you–the nutritionist is HUGE on no additives or preservatives if you can help it. No soda either. Not even diet, but every once in a while I want one so I get a Sprite Zero. Llast week I drop the kids at the ortho and took off to run errands then ran to Sonic because my blood sugar was low (nothing there is on my diet but you do what you have to to keep from keeling over). I splurged and got a diet Cherry Limeaid (with Sprite Zero) to go with my tater tots and MAN was it GOOD! It was like HEAVEN on CRACK or something…. it was…it was like SEX!

Sadly something in it kept me up all night so no more Diet Cherry Limeaids for me :(

OMG that was so boring….*sigh* sorry ya’ll. While you’re around, weigh in on Friendship over at SFC.

No Negative Thoughts

Sasha White has a great blog up at Naughty and Spice that asks, “What do you want?”

Now I”m not just saying it’s great because she’s our guest blogger this week, I’m going to take my comment I left over there about coming back from Nationals feeling more positive, one step further. Because when you get drug down by the day-to-day of life it’s real easy to let positive fly out the window; when you get drug down by the beating you can take as a writer (published or otherwise) it’s real easy to let that fly out the window. Not only was I once-up-a-time more positive, I was more in touch with the universe, more willing to ask for what I wanted, more willing to verbalize to the universe my needs and wants and desires and I need to get back to that.

I am going to be more positive. I will be more positive. I am a positive person.

To that end, I even ordered a book my nutritionist recommended called “Feelings Buried Alive Never Die.” It takes the power of positive reinforcement to the next level and talks about reprogramming your DNA (to become a more positive person, to become a calmer person, to change the way you think, feel, eat etc).

If you want to laugh or poke fun, please do so elsewhere….this is a no negativity zone :D

Interesting

I’ve been mulling some writing things over (and dealing with a bunch of personal stuff) so I thought it might be fun to post some of the last week’s horror-scopes I’ve gotten in my inbox………..

Today:

So door number one didn’t work out. What about what’s behind doors number two, three, four, five — you’re getting the picture, right? There are an infinite number of possibilities available if you let yourself see them.

So, are you telling me to do what I think i should do or telling me NOT to do what I think I should do–sh*t I hate making decisions. Anne please tell me I’m not the only one!

Yesterday:

You’ll take a giant step forward when you can teach yourself that paradox is simply a natural, normal part of life. Reconciling two ideas that you had previously thought were opposites opens up your possibilities.

Hmmmmmm Definite food for thought. If I do this then I don’t have to do today’s :D

Saturday:

Remember pulling all-nighters for a big test? The stars say you need that kind of focus now. Put aside all distractions and inform loved ones that you may need to really put the pedal to the metal to get to your goal.

LOL I slept all day! Maybe if my children would quit breaking bones and forgetting their homework I could focus!

Friday:

Get a little more TLC into your life, especially if you’re re-experiencing a painful old issue regarding a personal matter. Be kinder to yourself.

THis definitely went with Saturday’s blog post…..

Thursday:

It’s time to hitch your wagon to a star — several of them, in fact. Some outlandish, visionary influences are in your astrological sector. They’re encouraging you to go crazy, dream big and get a little wild. Why not?

Outlandish, visionary influences….That’s either Vee or Shelli :D

Wednesday:

This decision could send your life in a whole different direction — but it’s actually not that big a deal, so stop fretting over what you should do. If you don’t like it, you can just as easily reverse direction — honest!

Easy for you to say…….

So what’s in your stars? Gaw does anyone (besides PBW and Shiloh) have some good news? Please?

Left Behind Chatter

First off, and definitely most important, last night’s HEROES RAWKED!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG….just OMG. I hope next week doesn’t come off like filler. (And I totally hate the grandmother fwiw).

Second….I’m doing a left behind writing challenge with Shelli and Emma and anyone else who’s interested.

Third…. a comment that Rhian posted over at Shiloh’s got me to thinking (and we all know how dangerous that is). Okay, honestly, it didn’t get me to thinking, because it’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot.

Last….one of my very first critique partners is celebrating her first release today - Sweet Forever (It’s a Samhain book). Go over and congratulate her!

PS….the school just called and I have to go pick up a kid……….
