Ok so I”m over at SFC today talking about 10 things I’d like to do before I’m 40. Stop by, weigh in if you feel like it!

Now for a book review…and ya’ll know I write such WONDERFUL reviews *blush*

I’ve been working on Vicki Pettersson’s The Scent of Shadows for about two weeks–it’s a BIG book weighing in at about 450 pages. Yes, yes I’m behind, hell the second book is out already, but I gotta tell ya’ll I LOVED this book! And no I don’t know Vicki, so I’m not a friend just squeeing on her behalf to get you to pick it up….I think this is one of those books Jordan recommended a while back.

If you like stuff like X-men and Spiderman, Painkiller Jane and The Dresden Files, check it out. A warning though for those of you looking for an HEA this is NOT the book for you. Actually the romance aspect of it is sad (and poignant–I felt so sorry for Ben!). However if you can dig a happy ending where the bad guys get beat and the heroine lives to fight another day, you should totally check this out!

Or my AI recap…….seemed like not only were there sparks flying with the singers, but between Ryan and Simon (again). Pretty funny stuff.

ok….Phil. I totally didn’t agree with the judges. I thought he sounded weak and I wasn’t impressed. He should have listened to Martina …..

Jordin….DAYUm. What else can I say? DAYUM. She totally had the chill factor. You know Randy was right–when Martina did Broken Wing she did it right. It’s really hard to take a song that was so well done (and fwiw one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers) and cover it. Where Phil failed, Jordin kicked ass–totally.

Sanjy–Louder….but flat (unlike his hair). Jesus what else can I say? I read a thing online (apparently a joke) that he was doing Boot Scootin Boogie and I emailed Karin threatening to throw a boot through my TV which btw isn’t even paid for. So that would have been bad. Very bad. Speaking of which…Sanjy–bad hair BAD BAD HAIR! Not only did you mutliate Bonnie Raitt, your hair looked unusually shitty*. Go Home. I have to give him kudos for taking all the criticism he gets everywhere and still smiling but DAYUM. Enough already.

Kiki–loud. Just loud. And I hated her boots.

Chris–he totally had the Rascall Flatts thing going on!!!! I could totally see him doing that. Yeah, okay so it was a bit nasally in parts but still WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO (why was the band so loud though?)

Melinda–Great….Fun. What else can I say? She’s a pro and it shows, but as a writer we all know being a pro isn’t all it takes.

Blake….had some pitch problems hitting those high notes. However, I think he did pick a perfect song for him (and one of my fave McGraw songs) in that it wasn’t too country. He did the best he could considering it was so far out of his comfort zone.

Overall a pretty good night. Predictions? Anyone? I say Phil’s going home. And Kiki better watch out.

*FWIW if I wear my hair curly and put a bandana on, my hair looks like just like Sanjy’s– :-O

Effing Prison Break ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!  The Unit was pretty good.  I”m still not sold on Blood Ties though.  It better get better fast!  And Battlestar Gallactica is almost over.

Am I the only one watching DIRT and OMG–The Riches?  I love Dirt and I wasn’t that keen on it after Nip Tuck went off but I had to have something to watch–yes no really okay.  So for the most part it’s really good.  The Riches–an effing RIOT!  Not comedy riot but just twisted, guilty pleasure riot.  I love this show.  And WTF happened to the Closer? They show one new episode and it’s all repeats? WTH?

No spoilers please–I’ve got tons of shows I haven’t had a chance to watch yet.  I did watch Basketball last night and A  & M lost *Sob* *sob*

One of the best Supernatural shows os far–the kid was in tears and I was pretty upset myself.  How sad.
And the AI show to see who got kicked off–I have to tell ya’ll this because I already posted about it over on Scooper’s blog.  We’re watching AI and Lulu is singing and #2 (the 11 yo) says, “Lulu’s kind of hot for an old woman.”
WTF (esp as I was sitting there thinking this song sucks but she looks pretty good for her age.)

Anyone care to take a guess as to who’s gonna get the boot tonight?

Girls: Alaina Alexander (thin reedy voice), Haley Scarnato (something about her bugs me–i think the judges comment last week about her cabaret’ness is correct–IMO she doesn’t stand out much. I think it goes back to that performer/singer thing). And/or Antonella Barba (I’ve heard some gossip about her too )–she was better but it goes back to that singer/performer thing for her also. I know that’s three but I’m pretty convinced it’ll be two of these three.

Guys: AJ, Sanjaya, Brandon, Nick and Jared–I think it could be any of those five. I’d HATE to see Brandon voted off–he’s way talented but he’s going to be lucky if his performance the other night didn’t do him more harm than good. The sentiment was good, so he might get the chick vote. I still can’t believe Sanjaya was in the top four last week. His performance was interesting but…I dunno. He’s got potential but he needs to hone his skills. Nick and AJ just don’t stand out to me much, Jared’s real close in there too. If I had to pick two, I’d say AJ and *sob* Brandon.

I have NCIS and The Unit DVR’ed to watch later.

Prison Break–I have to ask, they found the flash drive with the evidence and NEVER once considered um MAKING A COPY!? WTF?  It’s rare I have a gripe with PB but that was a big red flag for me.  Otherwise, it was a great show!

HEROS–EFFING ROCKED! Never saw the twist at the end coming but totally loved it and I’m dying for next week.

Law and Order SVU: Did anyone watch that? OMG!!!!!! Liv and her brother–man that was fantabulous!

American Idol….I remember a long time ago someone (I think it was Sasha) who said, they watch it because they can relate to the performers as a writer–or something like that.  This is the first season I’ve watched, and I can SO see this!  What I realized last night while watching AI was that some singers are singers and some are performers!  This is important even if I’m not quite sure why.

Lots of this and that this morning….I’ve edited approximately 35k words on TCRA (and got a proposal off to my agent)!

Did anyone watch Heros last night? OMG!! It was fabulous!  Even though toward the end my son asked me how I knew who Claire’s father was and I said logic (or maybe it was the writer in me).  Was I disappointed that I was right? Um nope!  I think it was kinda cool.

Didn’t watch Prison Break (so no spoilers please!) because of basketball practice.

I have to ask here all you carpooling moms who lug your kids to school every day…what is the point of dropping your kid off in front of the school?  I mean, seriously does one car length make that much of a difference? Grrrrrrrrrr Irritating.  I kick mine out as soon as possible and don’t wait.  It’s much less rude.
